Flu season 20/21

With the winter flu season approaching, we would like to take this opportunity to tell you about our seasonal flu vaccination at the surgery. We are eager to provide a seasonal flu vaccination programme for all our patients. As recommended by the Department of Health the people that will be able to have the vaccine are those whose health is most at risk.

The current Covid 19 pandemic will prove challenging to see the amount of patients we would normally see in a flu clinic as we will need to clean our stations and change our PPE in between patients. Social distancing will be adhered to at all times to ensure you and our staff are protected as much as possible during your appointment.

Help safeguard yourself by booking an appointment at your earliest convenience. As you are in the group of patients recommended to have the vaccine we would like to invite you to make an appointment. We would strongly advise that you take advantage of the vaccine to prevent yourself from catching flu and developing potentially dangerous complications.

WE WILL BE HOLDING FLU CLINICS THROUGHOUT SEPTEMBER AND OCTOBER AND INVITES WILL BE SENT OUT IN THE FOLLOWING ORDER OF RISK.

HOME VISITS FOR HOUSEBOUND PATIENTS

CARE HOMES/NURSING HOMES

PATIENTS OVER 65 PATIENTS

UNDER 65 AT RISK

From 1st December patients aged 50 to 64 with no long term conditions are eligible for a flu vaccination. Please contact the surgery and we can book you into one of our sessions.

CHILDRENS VACCINES WILL BE HELD ON A DIFFERENT DAY AND INVITES WILL BE SENT OUT ACCORDING TO THE VACCINE DELIVERY DATES.

WE THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE IN THESE CHALLENGING TIMES AND WE WILL ENDEVOUR TO VACCINATE YOU AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

If you have had your flu jab elsewhere such as the pharmacy, work or as an inpatient at hospital or you would like to decline the vaccination, please contact reception and they will remove you from our invite list.
