Booking your annual flu vaccine

Flu vaccination provides the best protection against an unpredictable virus which infects many people and can cause serious illness and death each year. With COVID-19 still in circulation it is really important to reduce the number of those becoming ill with flu this winter to help protect them, the NHS and social care services. Research also shows that if you get both flu and COVID-19 at the same time you may be more seriously ill.

The vaccination is free and recommended yearly for those most at risk from flu.

This includes;

  • pregnant women
  • Patients 16 to 49 with a chronic disease such as COPD, Diabetes and Heart conditions
  • anyone living with a long-term medical condition
  • everyone aged 50 years and over
  • people with caring responsibilities. Healthcare workers.
  • close contacts of immunocompromised individuals

If there is someone you rely on to care for you, please ask them to contact their own GP Practice as they may be eligible for a free flu vaccination.
