PRACTICE OPENING TIMES  open_sign_and_clock  Monday – Friday 08:00 – 18:00 HUB OPENING TIMES AT PRIORY VIEW  Saturday 8am-5pm Shape  Pin Point  The Practice is taking part in a Pilot for cancer screening with West Yorkshire and Harrogate NHS.  Patients who are being referred for a 2ww referral to the hospital will be asked if they would like to take part in the pilot when they have their consultation with the GP.  The aim of the blood tests is to improve the NHS cancer referral system by helping identify cancers earlier but it will also identify patients at very low risk who may not need to go to hospital at all. Shape New Starters  Stephanie and Hayley – Receptionists  PCN New Starters  Samir – Pharmacist Karla and Anna – Health and wellbeing Coaches Claire – Cancer Care Coordinator Frances – Dietician     PRACTICE UPDATE    Appointments  We continually review our appointment and telephone system and make changes to the way in which appointments are booked and how appointments are made available. We now offer a choice of face to face or telephone appointment; however, we have a limited number of appointments daily and once they are full, we would suggest contacting your Pharmacy for minor ailments, or 111 for advice or to visit a walk in centre. We are unable to guarantee appointments with specific GP’s at specific times however as always we will do our best where possible to meet the needs of our patient population.   Everyone at Armley Medical Practice is very aware of the huge demand for appointments and the difficulty sometimes of being able to see a GP or nurse. We are doing our best to offer as many appointments as possible each day.  Please understand that everyone here is doing our best to help you Please understand if we direct you to another service we are not trying to be difficult or unhelpful – we are trying to help you when it is just not safe for us to see anyone else Please cancel appointments you no longer need Respect our staff and our Zero Tolerance policy – it is difficult to recruit and retain staff. They are more likely to leave if shouted at, putting more pressure on other staff. Make use of our online resources for advice and requesting sick notes / medication  Online Registration  We have GP appointments that open up each morning that can be booked online via patient access or the NHS app. We would strongly recommend that anyone who can use these services do so to reduce the waiting times on the phone. It is also beneficial to order your repeat medication.    Care Navigation  Receptionists and Admin Staff have recently taken part in Care Navigation training to further enhance our skills and knowledge when signposting patients to the most relevant service. There are a lot of instances where a patient doesn’t necessarily need to see a GP and therefore the receptionist will ask the reason for your call in order to direct you to the most appropriate service e.g. Physiotherapy, Pharmacy, Sexual Health, Mental Health Services, Social Prescribing etc.  Freshly picked carrot harvest Edible Garden  We are currently looking for volunteers to help with our Edible Garden located at the front of the building. All patients and members of the community are welcome. Get your green fingers ready, we have a lot of clearing and planting to do. You can visit reception at the surgery, call us on 0113 4677499 or email [email protected] to express your interest.
