Appointments

This page explains how we arrange our appointment system and how to make an appointment.

The practice operates an appointment system for both morning and evening surgeries. Appointments are made in advance by telephoning 0113 4677499 (three lines are answered from this one number and a call waiting system).

Due to increasing demand we have had to review our appointment system.

Routine appointments are available for such things as existing medical conditions, medication reviews, results and other NON URGENT medical conditions, these are bookable up to 4 weeks in advance.

On the day appointments are ONLY available for URGENT medical needs such as shortness of breath, chest pains, infections, elderly patients and poorly children.

The reception staff will offer the next routine appointment unless you feel your condition requires an on the day appointment.

Please note that sick notes can be booked into a routine appointment and back dated from the day of sickness and results can often be given over the telephone.

Some ailments can be dealt with by your chemist so please ask for Pharmacy First for such things as coughs, colds, sore throat, fever, thrush, earache, teething, sprain or strain. You can get FREE advice form the pharmacist and medicine can be supplied and free of charge if you at exempt from prescription charges.

Appointments may be made online, by telephone or in person. Please make one appointment for each member of the family who needs to be seen. We try to keep to time but please be patient if someone before you takes longer than planned. Appointments are normally ten minute slots and so if you have a complicated problem, or more than one problem, please ask for a longer appointment. It is practice policy to allow patients to choose whichever doctor they wish to attend in the practice.
