URGENT UPDATE ON ORDERING PRESCRIPTIONS

From 1st June you will no longer be able to request your prescription via telephone.

We have recently undertaken a review of our prescription ordering service.

All prescriptions will take 48 hours to process. This allows time for them to be received and processed, reviewed by the doctor to ensure safe prescribing then returned to the reception desk or pharmacy to be given out. Any repeats requests should therefore be made at least 48 hours before the medication is needed.

Requests for prescriptions outside the normal prescription protocol impacts significantly on both doctor and administration time. If you ask for an urgent repeat prescription, you will need to rive the reason for your request.

The majority of hospital prescriptions are non-urgent and will also be processed through the normal prescription process. Many medications can safely be missed for a few days. We will not issue urgent prescriptions for items that can be bought over the counter or for non- essential medication.

If your medication cannot be missed, the item will be issued as required.

You can order your repeat prescription online, any time day or night, if you register for our on line service. Please note the Electronic Prescriptions still require two working days to be processed.

To order a prescription you can register for online services which will enable you to book appointments and request prescriptions online by emailing armleymedical@nhs.net

Simply email your request for online services with your full name address and dob and our admin staff will reply with all the necessary log on details.

The Practice can electronically send most prescriptions direct to a pharmacy of your choice. Contact reception to nominate your pharmacy and each time you request a repeat scrips you script will be automatically sent to your nominated pharmacy ready for you to pick up or even delivered (if available).

For regular medications pharmacists may be able to provide a small supply in advance. Contraception can be obtained at a local Sexual Health Clinic (details available online), https://leedssexualhealth.com/contracteption

Thank you
