FLU / Covid vaccination season 25/26

The flu and covid vaccination provides the best protection against an unpredictable virus which infects many people and can cause serious illness and death each year.

NHS England guidance has stated that the Flu vaccinations given from 1st October will be the most effective for elderly and chronic disease groups.

We will be holding clinics at the surgery during the week from 1st October and Saturday 11th October 8.30am until 12.30pm.

If you are eligible you will be offered the covid vaccine at the same time as the flu vaccination.

A link to book an appointment will be sent to your mobile phone (if you have consented to SMS) Alternatively, please phone 0113 4677499 Option 1 after 1pm to book an appointment for your flu /covid vaccination.

The Flu vaccination is free and recommended yearly for those most at risk from flu.

This includes;

· People living with certain long-term medical conditions

· Everyone aged 65 years and over

· People who receive a carer’s allowance, or are the main carer for an older or disabled person who may be at risk if the carer gets sick

· Close contacts of immunocompromised individuals

  • – If you are housebound and cannot attend the surgery please call and we will arrange our frailty nurse to see you at home.
  • – Children aged 2 and 3 nasal influenza will be invited from September
  • – Pregnant ladies will be invited from September
