CORONAVIRUS SUPPORT FOR VULNERABLE AND PATIENTS AT RISK IN ISOLATION

Please use this page to find useful information and links to support isolated and vulnerable in our local area. Support with shopping and food deliveries and helpful links for people how need emotional support or information on your mental wellbeing.

 

SUPPORT WITH SHOPPING/MEDICATION PICK UPS AND CHECK IN TELEPHONE CALLS FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE IN ISOLATION

If you are in isolation and worried about not being able to get food/basic items or medication or you would just like someone to check in with you during this time please call 0113 378 1877 and you will be matched with a local volunteer who can help support you.

 

Here at the surgery we can make referrals into the local NHS Good Samaritan Volunteer Scheme for help also, you just need to contact us at the surgery to request a referral by contacting our reception on 0113 4677499 Option 2.

To help free up slots for vulnerable people, such as elderly customers, those who are self-isolating and disabled people, they are encouraging other customers who shop online or choose Click and Collect for their grocery home shopping to prioritise shopping in-store where possible. ARMLEY HELPING HANDS

If you are over 60 and live in LS12 Armley Helping Hands have teamed up with Karpaty bakery on town street and can offer deliveries of bread and bread rolls on Tuesdays and Thursdays, you can call 0113  2799292 or email Dawn at dawn.newsome@armleyhelpinghands.org

 

They will also be offering £10 food parcels or coordinating local volunteers who can do small shops for people. Check their Facebook page ‘Armley Helping Hands’ for updates on what they are offering.
