Armley Helping Hands – coronavirus update

CORONAVIRUS UPDATE-

Armley Helping Hands Chief Executive Office Miss Dawn Newsome as announced this afternoon, as a precautionary measure Armley Helping Hands have decided to close all activities and groups with immediate effect.

Staff will still  be coming into work and stay in communication with our service users via telephone only.

All services users attending activities and service delivered by the charity will receive a call on Monday from a dedicated member of the charities Staff team to notify them of the cancellation and to check if Service users require any assistance with in their home.

Please can we reassure service users, their families and our community partners this decision has been taken as a precaution, to reduce cross infection and not to panic.  We will be keeping in contact with everyone via telephone call and are looking at ways to provide support in assisting our members to stay safe and well at home. We will be looking at offering a shopping service which will offer fresh products to our older peoples with in their homes. Especially to our older people who are short on supplies or require to collection of  medication etc.

If you suspect that your elderly or disabled neighbours in Armley or Wortley are self-isolating or are experiencing restricted support due to main carer self-isolating and may require support or shopping then please let us know. We are on hand to deliver food and essentials to them. Please call 0113 2799292 during office hours or call 07775621933 out of hours

If you are feeling unwell and have a new cough, high temperature or breathing difficulties or have been in contact with a person that has recently returned from a category 1 or 2 area (as detailed on the NHS website) please follow Government guidelines or contact NHS 111.
